COPPER AND ALUMINIUM Anti-Fouling Unit for Protection Seawater Pump

The copper anode and aluminum anode used for seawater pump protection are mainly used in the cathodic protection technology of sacrificial anodes. This technology protects equipment such as seawater pumps from corrosion by using a more reactive metal, such as aluminum or copper, as the anode.

Copper anode: Copper anodes are typically used for cathodic protection that requires higher current density or special environmental conditions. It has good conductivity and performs well in certain specific environments.

Aluminum anode: Aluminum anode has low cost, light weight, and can provide sufficient protective current in seawater, making it one of the commonly used sacrificial anode materials.

Application areas: Copper aluminum electrodes are widely used in the electrolytic anti fouling system in Yantai, and in the seawater cooling systems of ships, offshore platforms, coastal power plants, and chemical plants. These devices can effectively prevent marine organisms from adhering to pipelines and prevent pipeline corrosion, thereby protecting the normal operation of water intake and other critical equipment.

Working principle: In seawater, copper aluminum electrodes are used as anodes for electrolysis, producing toxic copper ions and corrosion-resistant aluminum ions. Copper ions mixed with seawater create a toxic environment that inhibits the growth of marine organisms; And aluminum ions combine with hydroxide ions generated by the cathode to form aluminum hydroxide, which can encapsulate the released copper ions and pass through the protected system with the water flow, further enhancing the anti fouling effect.

Specific device: Electrolytic anti-corrosion and anti fouling device is a common equipment that generates anti marine biological ions and anti-corrosion ions by electrolyzing copper and aluminum electrodes, and distributes these ions throughout the seawater pipeline system through a seawater pump to achieve the purpose of anti fouling and anti-corrosion.

Advantages: The electrolytic anti fouling system using copper aluminum electrodes has the advantages of simple structure, convenient management, and low electricity consumption. At the same time, it can also balance the dual functions of anti fouling and anti-corrosion, and is suitable for treating small flow seawater systems.
