Types and Applications of Industrial Water Treatment Technologies

Industrial water treatment technology can be divided into three categories based on treatment objectives and water quality: physical, chemical, and biological. It is widely used in the treatment of various types of industrial wastewater.

1. Physical processing technology: mainly including filtration, precipitation, air flotation, and membrane separation technology. Filtering is commonly used to remove suspended particles from water; Sedimentation and air flotation techniques are used to separate oil and solid particles; Membrane separation technologies, such as ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis, are used for high-precision purification and are suitable for treating high salt wastewater and recovering useful substances.

2. Chemical treatment technology: Removing pollutants through chemical reactions, including methods such as flocculation, oxidation-reduction, disinfection, and neutralization. Flocculation and coagulation are commonly used to remove fine particles; The oxidation-reduction method can be used to degrade organic pollutants or remove heavy metals; Disinfection techniques such as chlorination or ozone treatment are widely used for industrial water reuse or treatment before discharge.

3. Biological treatment technology: relying on microorganisms to degrade organic matter in water, common technologies include activated sludge process and anaerobic treatment process. The activated sludge process is suitable for treating wastewater with high organic load, while anaerobic treatment technology is commonly used for treating high concentration organic wastewater, which can effectively degrade pollutants and recover energy (such as biogas).

These technologies are widely used in wastewater treatment in industries such as petroleum, chemical, food processing, and pharmaceuticals. They not only effectively reduce water pollution, but also improve the reuse rate of water, promoting the sustainable development of industrial production.
